PlanetSafe and SafetyMax DRL conversion kits and Canada Some one from Canada tends to ask: So, are Amber turn signal DRLs legal in Canada?
Other variations: Are Driving light/Fog light DRLs also legal in Canada?
Again, the answer is Yes! |
Here's a link to the specific Canadian code where Amber DRLs are designated as legal by Transport Canada:

Sections 53b; 58b & c | | Not only are Amber DRLs legal in Canada - in fact, amber turn signal DRLs were invented in/for Canada! This type of DRL lighting first came in existence on motor vehicles in the early 1990's, and the first motor vehicles to have this feature were Canadian Dodge/Chrysler minivans (Caravan and Town & Country models), like the one below. [Note the front tag: this van is from the province of Ontario, where they require front & rear plates.]

Furthermore, the ACAA PlanetSafe universal AMBER turn signal-based DRL modules and conversion kits, and our white light kits, comply with Canadian motor vehicle code for daytime running light products.
Ordering DRLs from Canada
Unfortunately, our catalog page simply CANNOT handle Canadian alpha & numeric postal codes (e.g. A1B2C3) when ordering over the web. Using these Canadian Postal Codes in the US based ZIP Code field cancels or causes the transaction to fail.
Canadians: Steps needed to order DRL products using our on-line catalog page:
1) Go to shopping cart to select your product. To make it easy for our Canadian customers we have bundled our products with USPS shipping. This bundling saves you brokerage fees. Choose the BUNDLED PRODUCT to purchase and proceed to checkout.
2) Type in your information, all the way down but stopping at Zip Code: We show an example below [we will use Mountie D. DoRight as our example], with the fictitious data entered into our check out page highlighted in bold blue text:
First Name: Dudley
Last Name: DoRight
Address: 123 Main Street
City: Vancouver State: BC (for British Columbia, of course)
3) THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. When you come to Zip Code, you must type in a US zip code [a non-Canadian mail code] that is not in our home state of Georgia, or simply type 99999. When following this method, your actual Canadian mail code must be typed into the "Special Instructions" box at the bottom of checkout page along with Year, Make, and Model of the vehicle we are to match the kit to. For this example, we will enter 99999. Use this same Zip Code below for simplicity; this specific Zip Code acts as a flag for our order fulfillment personnel. Zip Code: 99999
Be careful: If you enter a US State of Georgia Zip Code, our system will automatically charge you Georgia state sales tax (about 7%).
4) Continuing, Dudley enters his phone number and Email address...
Phone: 555-555-5555
E-mail address: BullwinklesNemesis @ MyInternetServiceProvider.ca
5) If shipping and billing addresses are different, uncheck the check box and add the shipping address.
c/o Royal Mounted Canadian Police Depot 555 Main Street, Vancouver BC IMPORTANT> Zip Code: 99999
6) Either way, click the continue button at the bottom...
7) Now he enters year, make and model of vehicle into the Special Instructions section.
Also, he will enter his Postal code for Vancouver, and his Year, Make, and Model of car [so we can assemble the right kit for that particular vehicle].
If billing and shipping postal codes are different, he will need to enter them both.
Let's say his Vancouver postal code is V6A 2S8, and he traded in Horse for a 1990 Chevy Corvette. The data entry here would look something like the example below:
Special Instructions:
Billing PCode: V6A2S8
Shipping PCode: V6A 1T9
1990 Chevrolet Corvette |
Dudley has chosen the BUNDLED product with the cheapest shipping to Canada using USPS Flat Rate Box plus insurance to save from having to pay 'Brokerage Fees'
9) From here, the payment method options of either PayPal or Regular Credit Card processing with be available. He will select "Credit Card", and then payment type
Payment Type: MasterCard
If Dudley wants to pay by Paypal, he follows their online instructions to purchase...
10) And then He checks the Place Order button.
We will process and ship his order in 1 to 3 business days; usually next business day
We mark the outside of the box of all Canadian purchases with a label denoting "Safety Automotive Lighting Product"; this sometimes helps speed this product through Canadian Customs [but not always]. YOU WILL STILL BE LIABLE FOR ANY APPLICABLE DUTY OR TARIFFS ON THIS PRODUCT ENTERING CANADA. AllQuality cannot pay for any Canadian tariffs that might be due for this product (when this product is entering Canada from the US).
