First, consider that US domestic vehicles since WWII have wired most  headlight systems by simply 'common grounding' the headlight of a vehicle out at the fender, and then these systems switch a single power 'on' at the bulb for low beam headlight operation, and another independent power 'on' for high beam operation.

Late 1990's Ground-Side Switched headlight systems, found on some import vehicles, are headlight systems that basically are 'starving' for ground when the vehicle is running but the headlight system is turned off.

Then, when the GSS headlight system is switched on by the vehicle driver, -12 Volts or ground potential is then switched-on to make the headlight system activate.

To use our product configured as a low beam headlight DRL module on Hondas, Toyotas and other vehicles (Mitsubishi, other imports) with known ground-side switched headlight systems, we offer an external dual-relay kit and instructions in addition to our regular kit and instructions shown above.

Keep in mind, our turn signal DRL kits WORK GREAT ON A HONDA turn signals with no external relays needed. Extra relay kit, now on sale for $5 (regularly $9), includes instructions for these troublesome 'adding DRLs to the headlights' vehicle types.
